The Optical Shop, located across the hall from our Fenton Street office, is managed by Debra Collins. Debra is a licensed optician with over 40 years of experience. She is extremely knowledgeable regarding the selection and fitting of all types of frames and lenses.
GlassesThe optical shop offers a full range of services from routine prescriptions to highly specialized lenses. Debra Collins directly supervises every pair of glasses made at the optical shop and, with over 40 years of experience, can guarantee quality superior to other shops and the chain stores. She has extensive experience in dealing with difficult prescriptions and achieving optimal results.
We specialize in the use of premium lenses like Zeiss and Varilux. A wide selection of frame styles is available. We offer all types of current lens materials. Lenses that darken in the sunlight (photochromic) can be made out of glass or plastic. Plastic lenses come with a one year warranty. Special lenses (high index and aspheric) can be used so that strong prescriptions are not heavy or thick. Our optician has the expertise to fit modern progressive bifocals (the "line" is not visible), as well as standard bifocals and trifocals. Glasses for special needs, such as computer usage or golf, can be customized. Anti-reflective, anti-scratch, and ultra-violet coatings, as well as tinting, can be ordered or applied on the premises. Our antireflective lenses come with a two year replacement warranty.
We offer a wide variety of frames ranging from $25 to almost $300, most with a one year warranty. Our brands include Silhouette, Vera Wang, Tura, Ray Ban, Calvin Klein, Lulu guinness, Ferragamo, Anne Klein, and many more. We sell top of the line frames for less than our competitors, and we have a special budget section for the value-oriented shopper, providing high quality lenses with inexpensive frames that are of good quality.
The Optical Shop recently received Washington Consumer's Checkbook magazine's top rating for quality, service, expertise, and price.
Contact LensesSoft contact lenses, gas permeable lenses, semiflexible lenses and standard hard contact lenses are fitted in our office for vision correction. In addition, therapeutic contact lenses and extended wear lenses are fitted for patients who have had cataract extractions or corneal transplants, keratoconus, or other eye diseases. |
